2 IPA4SME IP Pre-diagnostics EU Free of charge expert analysis of SMEs’ existing technology and knowledge assets along with a customised IP business strategy.

To be eligible for the service SMEs must be holding a Seal of Excellence awarded in the context of the H2020 SME instrument which is not older than 3 years. Furthermore, SMEs must be incorporated in one of the following countries: Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden.

13 IPA4SME IP Protection Co-financing EU Partial reimbursement of the costs associated with the IP registration process. This support will be provided through 2 distinct services
EPO fee reimbursement: For each EPO patent application, beneficiaries will receive 75% of the corresponding EPO fee with a limit of 2.500 EUR per patent application. This service will be limited to 5 applications per SME
IP attorney fee reimbursement: For each patent application process beneficiaries will receive 50% of their IP attorney costs up to 2.000 EUR. The IP attorneys must be entitled to act before the EPO. There is no limit to the number of applications for this service but each application must be associated with a unique patent application process.

To be eligible for the service SMEs must be holding a Seal of Excellence awarded in the context of the H2020 SME instrument which is not older than 3 years. Furthermore, SMEs must be incorporated in a EU or COSME country.

14 Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund EU The fund provides reimbursements for IP pre-diagnostic services and trade mark and design application fees. The services are provided by experts or national patent offices. Whereas the trademark and design application service is open to SMEs incorporated in any EU member state, the IP pre-diagnosis is only offered to SMEs incorporated in countries with participating national patent offices. 15 Free personalised Intellectual Property support EU SMEs submit an online form where they have to indicate their support needs. Based on this form the SME receives a customized list of pro bono service providers, which match its needs. 18 Effective Dispute Resolution (EDR) SME COVID-19 special service EU The special service will be offered in the following EUIPO proceedings:
- Oppositions: after the end of the cooling off period and only for unrepresented SMEs;
- Cancellations, RCD invalidities and appeals: for both represented and unrepresented SMEs at any stage of these proceedings.
The EUIPO aims to support SMEs in any of the above proceedings by designating an EDR case handler to guide the SME through the myriad amicable resolution possibilities available at the EUIPO and elsewhere.
