Techcelerator

Techcelerator has the mission to support Romania’s startup ecosystem through coaching and tailored acceleration
programs to grow and scale at European and world level.
Our flagship program is Techcelerator, the first tech startup accelerator in Romania which allocates
funds for equity aiming to grow companies in the (pre)seed phase. Financial investment is granted by
GapMinder Venture Partners, one of our strategic partners.
In 2017, HV developed Techcelerator in order to serve GapMinder VC to invest in its acceleration bucket.
However, Techcelerator remains an independent program, develops multiple partnerships with key
stakeholders in the European ecosystem and joins consortia to serve additional projects around
growing startup ecosystems or building business development strategies for new partners.
Starting with 2021, Techcelerator strategy focuses on expanding its activities in South Eastern Europe
and starts building partnerships with additional VCs and partner organizations in the attempt to
construct a new sustainable business model and ensure its financial resources. In short, to this
objective, we will continue presenting the best ventures and scale ups that we scout and support to
GapMinder, but to other VCs or support organizations too, such as Google for startups, EIT Digital or
UK Embassy in Bucharest, for example, who is interested to know innovative products and present them
to their market].
